Description

I chose the Pleiades as the first light test target of my new OTA, only for the hour before my main target M42 became visible. After a few nights of capturing an hour a night, I had enough data to stack a decent image. I used pretty much the same workflow as I have been using recently so any improved image quality is due only to the scope. I for one, am thoroughly impressed with the result.

The Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters and Messier 45, is an open star cluster containing middle-aged, hot B-type stars in the north-west of the constellation Taurus. It is among the star clusters and Messier objects nearest to Earth. It is also the cluster most obvious to the naked eye in the night sky.
